The Benefits of a Friday or Sunday Wedding

Saturday’s have long been the go-to wedding day. But with budget, guest lists, and general stress to consider, a Friday or Sunday wedding may be the way to go.

Availability & Budget

If you choose a popular venue, chances are you may have to book your wedding out 2 years in advance (sometimes more). Even if you do reserve your date a year out, you may have to share the venue with another wedding or event. Having a Friday or Sunday date will give you a ton of venue options and privacy. It will also be lighter on the purse strings, which we always consider a plus.

Your Guests Will Thank You

If you have a wedding on a Friday or Sunday, more people are going to RSVP as they’re less likely to have hard plans or obligations on those days. Plus, you’ll be able to really elongate the weekend and set up some fun activities for people coming from out of town. A Friday night event means a full weekend of festivities. A Sunday wedding means people have more flexibility when it comes to travel and work.

The Chill Factor

Friday and Sunday weddings are just a touch more relaxing than those Saturday events. A late Friday night means a chill and revitalizing weekend. If people are traveling from out of town, they can spend the weekend exploring the area and feeling like they’re on a mini vacation. A Sunday wedding calls for a brunch reception. And who doesn’t love brunch?
