In 2011, SpeechLess Music started as a funky instrumental side project focused on music that needs no words and melodies that sing without vocals. Performing nationwide, our continued dedication to musical excellence and five-star service has shaped our organization into the boutique entertainment group that it is today. Meet The Team!

 

Evan    Booking Director

Evan is an acoustic guitarist with a degree from Berklee College of Music in Music Business Management. He has been working with SpeechLess since 2016 and loves getting a chance to speak with clients to help bring their vision to life! Evan is involved in the Boston music scene and love exploring new venues and artists all over New England. In his free time, Evan love to play pool, rockclimb, and cook with friends.

 

Kay    Booking Associate

Kay is a classically trained opera singer, graduating with honors from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a BM in Vocal Performance. She is currently attending Louisiana State University, working towards her MM in the same field. Before joining SpeechLess, Kay balanced her performance career while working in the home & event staging industry. She loves combining her musical skills with her passion for event services, helping to bring couple’s visions to life. While not working, Kay enjoys baking and spending time with her cat, Fig.

 

Amanda    Event Specialist & Operations Director

Amanda is a violinist, violist, and electric violinist with both a BM and MM in violin performance. She has been involved with music for weddings and events since 2012, and she loves working with SpeechLess clients to bring their unique musical vision to life. When not working with SpeechLess, Amanda enjoys knitting, running, and reading Harry Potter.

 

Scott    Founder

Scott is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer. He combines his 15 years of event industry experience with his adventures touring internationally in various original bands to lead SpeechLess. Scott graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College Of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing & Production. Scott splits his time between west and east coasts, traveling with his wife and Mr. Boo (their puppy).

 

John    East Coast Music Director

Hailing from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, John began his musical study with piano lessons at the age of 8 and began composing at the age of 13 while also learning the guitar and violin. After matriculating at Yale University, John started arranging for his choir groups and pops orchestra. Also while at Yale, John began his conducting career, beginning with his choir group, Pitches and Tones. He's currently busy scoring films, conducting orchestras, and shaping Speechless Music's creative trajectory. You can find out more at JohnBaxterMusic.com

 

Claire    West Coast Music Director

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Claire is a pianist, composer, arranger, and music educator. She has been providing music for weddings and special events for over a decade. She graduated from Berklee College of Music with a BM in Contemporary Writing and Production. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cross stitching, and caring for her many plants.

 

Remy    CFO

With a laid back approach and a collaborative attitude, Remy believes that with a good team anything is paw-sible. When Remy is off the clock he enjoys naps in the sun, yummy treats, and being a good boy.

 

Mr. Boo    Creative Director

Boo has been an integral part of the SL team since he was a pup. Boo believes taking long walks, sticking your head out the car window, and enjoying appropriately sized chew toys are the foundations of a strong creative team.

Scott and the band are consummate professionals. Leading up to the wedding Scott was attentive and accommodating, willing to learn new songs (some of which were very difficult) and most importantly, he was excited. Not only does the band portray extreme talent and technical professionalism, but it is clear they were having fun while playing, and their excitement made a huge difference in the atmosphere of the night. They were able to perform several different sets, an acoustic trio/quartet during the cocktail hour, during dinner, and through the post dinner reception. The set list they were able to play was the widest range I had ever seen at a wedding; ranging from contemporary pop/dance anthems and funk tunes to classic ballads. Scott and the band brought their own ideas to the table that complemented what my wife and I wanted, and everything fit perfectly. After the wedding the feedback I've gotten from every attendee was that this was easily the best group of musicians anyone had ever seen at a wedding, and it's absolutely true. Watching them perform together it was clear they were excited to be there, were having fun, and were passionate about what they were playing. At one point during one of the slower numbers there were two folks who were without a dance partner. Two of the band members took it upon themselves to ask the girls without a date to a dance and it completely made their night. Again, not something required or expected, but showed them once again exceeding expectations.

A good portion of my family are involved in music either directly or indirectly; several play instruments, several are in bands etc...and for a good portion of the evening there was a good amount of people just watching in awe at the technical skill and raw talent of the band. Watching closely you can tell they are all classically trained, and you'd think they would have been playing together for 10+ years at least.

Again I want to reiterate how special this band is, and how incredibly happy we stumbled upon them. They made the night unforgettable and special in a way that any other band could absolutely never do.
