One of the best parts of providing music for a wedding is helping each couple bring their musical vision to life. We’ve seen everything from the traditional “Canon in D” to some more quirky song choices. Though it’s hard to choose, here are 11 of the most unique ceremony song requests we’ve had the pleasure of playing:

1.

Concerning Hobbits from Lord of the Rings

composed by Howard Shore

Can you imagine walking down the aisle to this one? Concerning Hobbits was the song of choice for one couple's wedding party processional. Needless to say, both the bride and groom are big Tolkien fans.

2.

All of the Lights - Kanye West

Who wouldn’t want to dance their way back up the aisle with this song as a recessional?

3.

The Phantom of the Opera, main theme

composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber

The dramatic opening of this song had all eyes on the bride as she started to walk down the aisle.

4.

Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader

You'll recognize the name and the lyrics from the 1972 King Harvest hit, but when we get a request specifically for Toploader's rendition we know that the couple is planning something a little bit different!

5.

Star Wars, main theme

composed by John Williams

To highlight one groom’s love of all things Star Wars, he and his groomsmen started the ceremony by walking down the aisle to this iconic main theme.

6.

Higher Love - Kygo & Whitney Houston

A slowed down version of this pop hit made for the perfect processional song.

7.

Jasmine Flower - Traditional Chinese Song

Incorporating traditional songs of other cultures is a great way to give a nod to your family and heritage. One couple honored the bride’s Chinese background by including Jasmine Flower in their special day.

8.

Death of a Bachelor - Panic! At The Disco

This more alternative song choice accompanied by a bowling alley venue made for one of the coolest weddings we’ve ever played.

9.

Never Let You Go - Third Eye Blind

Any 90s kid will recognize this hit. What better way to start married life than with a chorus of “I’ll never let you go”?

10.

Dusk Till Dawn - Zayn ft. Sia

As much as we love a traditional processional song like “Here Comes the Bride”, sometimes a more contemporary song like this one is just what a ceremony needs to set the tone for the day.

11.

Speechless - Dan + Shay

As an organization called SpeechLess, it was awesome to play a song with the same name and put our own spin on it!

Song requests are just one of the ways couples can add personal touches to their wedding ceremonies. Have a unique musical vision for your big day? Let SpeechLess help you bring it to life!
