Have a Very SpeechLess New Year - Our Resolutions
Well folks, it’s been one heck of a year. 2020 really had us goin for a while but we made it through, thanks to you. Next year is looking like an incredible season for music and we can’t wait to see you all real soon!
As a team, we promise to put out more behind the scenes and musical content. We’ve got big plans to have more audio and video coming out in the next year for all ensembles!
To bring us into 2021 with style and grace, see below for our individual resolutions. Let’s make next year even better.
-Stay well,
The SpeechLess Team

I have a few resolutions. For one, I’d like to join a running group. I loved doing weekly long runs with Team Brookline while marathon training pre-COVID, and I’ve missed the camaraderie.
I’d like to finally finish the 3 half-done knitting projects I have.
Lastly, I’d like to visit my out-of-state friends. COVID cancelled all plans, so crossing my fingers it works out for 2021!

My first resolution is to learn how to dance without a guitar strapped to my body. I've been able to cheat the fact that I can't move my torso for years. I can do the Chuck Berry/Angus Young kick (often confused with the 'duck walk'), but once I lose the guitar I'm a deer in headlights.
My second resolution is to become fluent enough in Russian to hold conversations with some depth with my parents-in-law!

In 2021 I’d like to create more art. I went to school for illustration and I love book binding, so it would be great to make more work for myself.
I’d also like to get better at the bass guitar. I’m the only one in the office that’s not a professional musician!
Also drink less caffeine. That’s a life-long resolution.

I’d like to learn the Joe Venuti 4-string violin bow technique as demonstrated here: Evan Price - Four String Joe

I want to convince Julian to let me sit on the couch.
I’d also like to eat more snax, and finally catch a bunny!
see you next year!

Most brides have never planned a wedding ceremony before, so it is completely normal not to know what actually happens or in what order things take place!
A wedding ceremony may feel like a single continuous moment, but in reality it is a series of carefully structured segments. Each part has its own emotional purpose, pacing, and energy.
Booking live music is one of the best ways to elevate your wedding day, but there are a few logistical details that many couples never think about until the week of the wedding.
The good news is that these are all easy to plan for. A little preparation helps your musicians perform at their best and ensures everything runs smoothly from the first note to the last.
Your wedding music does more than fill the silence. It sets the tone for every unforgettable moment, from walking down the aisle to your final dance of the night.
After performing at hundreds of weddings, we've noticed that the smoothest celebrations have one thing in common. Thoughtful planning. Here are the five biggest mistakes couples make when planning their wedding music and how to avoid them.
Few moments during your wedding are as emotional as the bride's entrance. It's the moment your guests stand, your partner sees you for the first time, and your ceremony truly begins.
So...how do you choose the perfect song?
Your first dance is one of the most personal moments of your wedding day. Whether you've spent months practicing or plan to simply sway together, one question often comes up:
Should we have our first dance performed live, or should we play the original recording?
The good news? There's no wrong answer. Both can create an unforgettable moment—it simply depends on the atmosphere you're hoping to create.
One of the most common questions couples ask after choosing a wedding date is, "When should we book our wedding entertainment?"
The short answer? As soon as you've secured your venue. For most weddings, we recommend booking your entertainment 12–18 months in advance, especially if you're getting married during peak wedding season or have your heart set on a particular band, DJ, or ensemble.
Planning your wedding budget? One of the biggest questions couples ask is, "How much does a wedding band cost?" The short answer is that most professional wedding bands cost between $6,000 and $15,000+, but the right investment depends on your guest count, venue, desired experience, and the size of the band.
Martina and Jesus’ wedding at was the kind of celebration that reminds us exactly why we love what we do. Nestled in the mountains of Big Indian, New York, this wedding was filled with beautiful scenery, incredible energy, and so many meaningful musical moments from start to finish. We were honored to provide music throughout the day with our Pop Strings Trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour, followed by our high-energy 8-piece band for the reception celebration.
Some weddings stay with you long after the final song has ended. Jamie and Robert’s July 27th, 2019 wedding at The Bowery Hotel is absolutely one of those celebrations for us. Even years later, we still find ourselves coming back to the warmth, emotion, and intimacy of this incredible New York City wedding.
There’s something special about events that fully lean into a theme—and the Georgetown Day School Spring Celebration in Washington, DC did exactly that.
Hosted on campus inside the Georgetown Day School gymnasium, this event transformed a familiar space into a vibrant, spring-inspired setting. The theme drew from the iconic cherry blossoms of Washington, DC, and guests embraced it by incorporating touches of pink into their attire. It created a cohesive, energetic atmosphere right from the moment guests arrived.
Some weddings are beautiful. Some are fun. And then there are weddings like Kasey and Kevin’s—where every moment is thoughtfully designed and the energy never lets up.
Hosted at The Ben Autograph Collection, this September celebration was unforgettable from the very first note of the ceremony to the final moments on the dance floor.
There are weddings that are beautiful, and then there are weddings that are completely unforgettable. Mercedes and Ray’s celebration at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach was firmly the latter.
Set against a sweeping ocean backdrop, their ceremony took place on the sixth-floor rooftop, giving guests a panoramic view of the Fort Lauderdale coastline. The setting alone created a stunning, elevated atmosphere—but it was the personalization and energy throughout the day that made this one stand out.
In early August of 2025, we had the opportunity to be part of a standout industry event with the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) Dallas-Fort Worth chapter. Hosted at the stunning Hall of Lights, this 100-person gathering brought together event professionals from across the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area for an evening centered around connection, creativity, and collaboration.
In January 2025, we had the opportunity to be part of an exciting new event concept in downtown Dallas, hosted by the Dreyson Society and planned by the incredible, Trish Damiso of Laveesh Events! This four hour soirée, ribbon cutting, and open house took place at The Mason Dallas and brought together some of the most creative and talented vendors in the Dallas event scene. The result was nothing short of incredible.
Jade and Gianfranco celebrated their beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony in May 2025 at The Springs in Waxahachie surrounded by the natural beauty of the trees and their closest friends and family.
Our Pop Strings Duo featuring violin and keyboard provided elegant live music for the ceremony, with a prelude that included classics from The Beatles, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. The wedding party walked down the aisle to “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany's, while Jade made her entrance to the beautiful “Liz on Top of the World” from Pride & Prejudice. The ceremony ended on a joyful note with a recessional to “This Will Be an Everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole.
Megan and Andrew celebrated their wedding on March 1st, 2025 at the beautiful The Hillside Estate with an intimate chapel ceremony featuring a live Pop Strings Trio. Their ensemble of violin, acoustic guitar, and upright bass created a warm and elegant atmosphere as guests gathered to witness the couple say “I do.”
A big fan of Taylor Swift, Megan and Andrew built their ceremony soundtrack around instrumental versions of her music, including Enchanted for the wedding party processional, Daylight as Megan walked down the aisle with her father, and Message in a Bottle for their joyful recessional as newlyweds.
Some weddings are beautiful. Some are high energy. And some are full scale productions that feel cinematic from start to finish. Madelyn and Cobin’s September 6th celebration at Rosecliff in Newport, Rhode Island was exactly that!
From a classical ceremony with live choir to a completely packed DJ hybrid dance floor, this was a seamless, start to finish musical experience layered intentionally throughout the entire day!
Stefanie and her partner’s wedding at the iconic New York restaurant Fandi Mata was the perfect mix of heartfelt moments and “wait… are they really playing that right now?” surprises. Hosted on the first floor, the vibe was intimate and stylish, with guests close enough to feel every emotional moment. And for us at SpeechLess Music, this wedding was the dream: a couple with great taste, a fun crowd, and a playlist that told their story from start to finish.
Hannah and Charlie’s wedding at The Newbury Boston featured live music from start to finish, beginning with a classical string trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour and ending with a packed dance floor led by a seven piece wedding band. From a joyful Dancing Queen recessional to a high energy Jewish hora and nonstop reception dancing, this elegant Boston wedding is a perfect example of how live music elevates every moment of a luxury wedding celebration.
