Couples Tell All: How to Find Your Wedding Musicians
Finding the perfect entertainment for your big day is probably a little more challenging than you think. Maybe that’s why you’re here reading this blog. We’ve got you covered. Some of our favorite couples talk about how they found us and what they would suggest to nearly weds looking for that perfect sound and vibe.
How did you find your music?
We scanned YouTube (scoured is probably a better description actually), until we stumbled upon SpeechLess. Honestly, the way SpeechLess was represented online, and their attention to detail and precision made them our clear cut choice from early on.
I think we found SpeechLess on the Knot or another wedding site. We noticed they were based in Brighton down the street from us, had great reviews, a variety of music options, and were fairly priced. We started communicating with SpeechLess and the level of professionalism and options they provided helped us make our decision to hire them, they were really into our reggae style wedding we had initially planned!
I wish I had a better answer but it was just google. We actually booked a different DJ first and when I was looking for strings for the reception, I found Speechless and KNEW we needed you for everything.
We found SpeechLess through a recommendation by Whim [our coordinator]. They gave us a list of bands to check out that they had worked with before and trusted ( since they knew how important the music aspect was to us.) We were looking for something a little more different than the cookie cutter wedding band.
What advice would you give couples who are trying to book music?
Look for a live band! It really such a big difference. Also, avoid “wedding music” or the electric slide and also those group dance things. I really don’t know why those are a thing. Chose a band that is fun and honest. Let them have a say in the music, they are professionals!
Well first of all, I wish I knew how quickly bands can book up! I would tell couples that finding the right band is one of the first things you should do after the wedding date is set. The music is so important for the entire vibe of the wedding. Research how big of band you want, the style you're into, and what can fit in the space. Figure out what instruments you love for a trio or quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We had an acoustic guitar as part of ours, and it gave the cool and more casual feel we were looking for.
We would encourage couples to take into account the following: Does this fit your vibe? Does the YouTube and Social Media representation get you excited? Are these people you want to work with?
- Kelly & Eric
The band is the MOST IMPORTANT part of the wedding. If the band sucks, the wedding sucks. If you have to prioritize anything, prioritize the band.

Giving a speech at a wedding is a significant honor and you’ll want to make sure your words are heard loud and clear.
Most of us don’t have a lot of experience using microphones but with a crowd of a hundred or more people, a microphone is essential. So, how can you use a microphone effectively?
At SpeechLess, we're here to help guide you through this decision-making process, ensuring that your vows and meaningful words are heard loud and clear. Let's explore why opting for a microphone can be the key to a seamless and unforgettable ceremony.
Among the various corporate events that punctuate the calendar, none quite establishes the ethos of your company culture like the annual holiday party. While food and drinks are staples at these gatherings, the key to making your corporate event truly extraordinary lies in the realm of entertainment. We firmly believe that nothing shapes the ambiance and sets the tone more effectively than a captivating musical performance. Music, after all, permeates the air, becoming an integral part of the overall experience.
Other than your fiance, the DJ you book for your wedding reception is your most crucial +1. Our DJs come with more than a laptop and a playlist. They come with years of musical education, and the turntable is just one of the instruments in their repertoire. You’ll never catch our DJs distracting your guests with rhetorical questions, or provoking them to dance while they cue the Cha Cha Slide (how about cue audible cringe?). Our DJ’s unique mixes and mash-ups will speak for themselves. A great DJ knows how to be SpeechLess, while creating an unforgettable soundtrack and vibe that will naturally draw your attendees to the dance floor - and keep them there all night long.
